The main role purpose of this apprenticeship is to deliver technical expertise for our full product range through specialist repair service and maintenance of customer machines, both on site and at customer premises.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Carry out machine service, repair and refurbishment work on full product range both on site and at customer sites as required
- Effectively diagnose faults and component issues in a timely fashion, limiting down time
- Rectify any warranty issues both on and offsite
- Support and proactively work towards a reduction in warranty cases and costs across the business
- Identify and feedback any repeat quality issues that affect warranty cases and costs
- Provide technical support to customers and wider team members to assist in the resolution of customer issues and warranty claims, signposting them to relevant support guidance
- Provide technical telephone support for customers infield
- Work with colleagues to ensure customer technical enquiries and issues are handled promptly and satisfactorily
- Proactively identify sales opportunities amongst customer base, particularly for up-selling
- Proactively promote and communicate the benefits of 'Allett Service Contracts'
- Present a professional and positive image of the Company whilst with customers
- Ensuring you work in a safe, responsible and professional manner
- Dedication to completion of the apprenticeship both in terms of the academic side as well as the practical aspects.

Engineering Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:
- This training for this apprenticeship will require the apprentice to attend college (In-Comm Training Services Ltd in Aldridge, WS9 8UG) on a part time for the first 18 months. After this, you will attend college just one day per week for the remaining two years
The training will include:
- Complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements
- Working efficiently and effectively in an engineering environment
- Using and communicating technical information
- Conducting business improvement techniques (covered in induction)
- Producing components using hand fitting techniques
- Assembling and testing fluid power systems
- Maintaining electrical equipment systems
- Wiring and testing electrical equipment circuits
- Preparing and using milling machines
- Preparing and using lathes for turning operations
- Using computer software packages to assist with engineering activities
- Producing cad models (drawings) using a cad system
